Stanley Episode 11 – “The Christmas Show”

Tonight being Christmas Eve, Stanley suffers some last-minute apprehensions as to the suitability of his gift for Celia – an old-fashioned music box. He is sure that had they lived a century ago she would have been overjoyed – this leads him into a dream sequence in which he plays a good-natured vagrant in “Merry Old England” and Celia a barmaid. He gives her a music box though it means he must do without his dinner – and it is found to be full of gold – proving that when a gift comes from the heart it is priceless. Back in the 20th Century, reassured by his dream, he takes the gift to Celia, and sure enough she loves it.
